KOTO Saigon Training Centre

A not-for-profit restaurant and vocational training program, KOTO  is changing the lives of street and disadvantaged youth in Vietnam.  KOTO Hanoi commenced operations in late 1999, with much support from Intrepid Travel and travellers in the early years, and in January 2010 KOTO Saigon opened its doors.  KOTO's philosophy is that disadvantaged youth should have access to holistic and vocational skills development, in a nurturing environment, where they will build their self-confidence and be empowered to live a life of dignity and happiness.

KOTO Saigon's two-year program provides a group of 16 – 22 year olds from disadvantaged backgrounds with hospitality, English and life skills training; as well as accommodation, food, and medical check-ups and treatment.  They provide a nurturing environment where the trainees can develop into confident young adults, ready to face the challenges that lie ahead.  KOTO Saigon currently has 100 trainees at the Training Centre in District 7, HCMC, and will welcome additional classes of 25 trainees every six months.

The KOTO Saigon Restaurant has been established offering a fine selection of Asian and western cuisine.  KOTO has also established its catering service in HCMC where the trainees work to gain practical experience while undertaking the program.

At the end of the program, trainees graduate with an internationally recognised hospitality accreditation from Box Hill Institute, Melbourne, Australia.

Your support through the Intrepid Foundation will help to ensure that KOTO Saigon can continue taking in disadvantaged youth and give them life-changing experiences. Donations will go towards trainee education and welfare expenses and helping trainees get the most out of their time in the program.
